Independent guide to rafting near Moab. We compare trips, we do not operate them. How we work

Transparency

How we make money.

The short answer

Right now, we do not. This site carries no affiliate links and no advertising. We are building the comparison guides first and will add booking links once the booking platforms we have applied to approve us.

When that happens we will name every programme on this page before a single link goes live, and a notice will appear at the top of every page carrying one. You will never pay more because of it.

How we research trips Ask us about this

Funding

No affiliate links are live yet.

As this page was last updated, MoabRaftingTours.com carries no affiliate links, no advertising and no sponsored placements. Nothing on the site earns us anything, and the booking links point at outfitters directly.

We have applied to booking platforms and intend to earn affiliate commission on reservations made through the site in future. That is the model we are building toward, and we would rather tell you now than surprise you later.

What will change when links go live

We will name the programmesEvery platform and outfitter programme we participate in will be listed on this page before the first link is published
A notice on every pagePages carrying affiliate links will say so at the top, not buried in the footer
Your price will not changeAffiliate commission comes out of the operator's margin, not your fare. The price you see is the price you would pay booking direct
Our recommendations will not changeThe comparisons on this site were written before any commercial relationship existed, which is a reasonable test of whether they were honest
Editorial Independence

What money does not influence.

No paid placement

Nobody can buy a higher position on a comparison page. Trips are ordered by what suits a given reader. Where a non commissionable option is genuinely the better choice, we say so and link to it anyway.

No pay to be listed

We list operators holding current commercial use authorisation for the stretch they run and carrying commercial liability insurance. Permit status is public record. Payment is not a criterion.

We recommend cheaper options

Throughout the site we point people away from expensive trips that do not suit them. Westwater instead of Cataract for most people. A half day instead of a full day. That is the whole value of an independent guide.

No invented reviews

We publish no guest testimonials and no aggregate star rating, because we do not take anyone on the river. Where we describe what people say about a run, we summarise public reviews and link to the source.

Important

What we are not.

We are not a rafting outfitter. We do not own boats, employ guides, hold river permits or run trips. MoabRaftingTours.com is an independent comparison guide published by Moabing Media, LLC.

Every trip described on this site is operated by a third party outfitter holding current federal and state permits. Your reservation, your payment and your contract are with that outfitter. Their cancellation terms, safety procedures and liability waivers apply, not ours.

If something goes wrong with a booking, the outfitter is who you deal with. We are happy to help you work out who to contact, but we are not a party to the transaction.

More about who we are

Accuracy

Prices and trip details.

Prices, departure times, minimum ages and season dates on this site are published as ranges across permitted outfitters, with a note to confirm current details. We do this deliberately rather than quoting precise figures, because outfitters set their own rates and adjust them seasonally, and a confident wrong number is worse than an honest range.

River conditions change too, sometimes within a season. A rapid rated Class III in August can be a serious Class IV during the spring peak. Always confirm the specifics with the operator before you book, and treat everything here as a starting point.

If you find something on this site that is out of date or wrong, please tell us. We would genuinely rather know.

Questions

Disclosure FAQs.

Do you earn money if I book through this site?

Not at present. This site currently carries no affiliate links and no advertising. We have applied to booking platforms and intend to earn commission on reservations in future, and when that happens we will name every programme on this page before the first link goes live.

Will I pay more by booking through your links?

No. Affiliate commission comes out of the operator's margin rather than your fare, so the price you see is the price you would pay booking direct. If you ever find otherwise, tell us and we will investigate.

Can outfitters pay to rank higher on your comparisons?

No. Nobody can buy placement. Trips are ordered by what suits a given reader, and where a non commissionable option is the better choice we say so and link to it anyway. The comparisons on this site were written before any commercial relationship existed.

Do you operate rafting trips?

No. We do not own boats, employ guides or hold river permits. Every trip is run by a third party outfitter with current federal and state permits, and your reservation and contract are with them. Their terms and waivers apply, not ours.
